Let’s start by having you tell us where you grew up and a little about your family?

Born in Windhoek SWA. Moved many places Pretoria, Mmabatho, Mafikeng, Calitzdorp, but came to love Cape Town and call it home. I have one sister, one brother in law, one father, two mothers and two nephews. Mom and dad got divorced and dad married again.

How did you come to know Christ?

One night after a prayer meeting the Lord reminded me of the words of one of the songs: "Unto your name, I will bring my sacrifice." I understood that He wanted me to sacrifice my whole life and not just "got to church as to not go to hell" That's the short version :)

Tell us how you met and fell in love…

I saw her beautiful eyes and was bowled over!

What experiences brought you to the place that you are now house parents?

This summer when we were in Russia, again my heart was just broken for the children that doesn't know the Love of the Father. I also realized that the Lord doesn't just want us to work in Russia,
but spend more time here at home as well.

What are you most excited about in terms of being house parents?

That God is in control! On our own we can do nothing, but with Him lives will be changed!!!

How can we best pray for you as House parents?

Pray for wisdom, discernment and understanding! And lots of patience!

What jobs did you have before you joined uThando?

Tour guide for the Western Cape, Handyman & Computer repairs.

Albert, what day job are you doing now?

Starting a business in Tourism and guiding.

What is your favourite joke?/ something random about
you/anything ‘light’ you want to add…

I don't know about favourite joke... I seem to forget them, but the last one I heard was pretty good!
Blond walks into the library and ask the lady behind the counter: "PLEASE CAN I HAVE A HAMBURGER AND CHIPS!!!" The lady responded with great disgust telling the blond that it is a library.
To that the blond gave a silly blondish giggle and whispered "oh' sorry, please can I have a hamburger and chips"
