What area of uThando are you involved in?

I have mostly been involved with prayer meetings and I've done some relief care at the house and generally been available where I can help. In January I started as the General Manager.

Tell us where you grew up and a little about your family?

Wow, i grew up in Mthatha in the EC. Come from a large family of 6 children and a minimum number of 11 people in the house. Grew up in a very social and united community environment with lots of friends and games. My family are very private people but we love to laugh and have a good time with all sorts of people. We love sharing i think, thats all I've ever known living with so many people. We are a christian family and it is a great blessing yet so interesting as we are mostly different types of christians in terms of ideas and preferences. I am a middle child and was born the same day as my father.

How did you come to know Christ?

I used to go up to accept the Lord as my Saviour every Sunday for at least 3 years (ages 7-10) and i would walk away after the prayer. I got to know Christ through Sunday School, church services, family devotions and friends from a very early age and the first time I took my commitment seriously and lived for it was at age 11 at a camp.

How did you become involved with uThando?

A friend of mine told me she'd received an email telling the story of how it started, she thought I'd like it and I read it and I just wanted to contribute something and be part of what the Lord was doing. I must say I have learnt and grown so much more than I expected and have been inspired beyond measure. God has started to really grow my heart for ministries like uThando and He is faithful in filling it in my time with uThando

How would you describe yourself?

Yoh, I don't know what to say. I love people. I'm talkative and enjoy a good debate or discussion. I enjoy reading, writing and most forms of art and all beautiful things from nature to pretty paper. Emotions, musical taste, favourite movies, actors etc...just like all the other females!!!! I love pyjamas and shoes!

What is the best thing about being involved in uThando?

The exposure to such a different faith-based way of doing things. The faith it challenges and brings out of me and being able to learn so much from other people in the team. The ultimate best though would be the times when you see the vision with your own eyes and the way the prayers are answered.

Your favourite joke?/something random about you/anything ‘light’ you want to add…
