John Thomas is the Senior Pastor at King of Kings Baptist Church
(formerly known as Fish Hoek Baptist Church), where he has been serving
since 1987. Both he and his wife Avril are involved with Living Hope
Trust, a community-based group of ministries, founded by John, that seeks to
tackle different aspects of poverty ranging from HIV prevention and home-based
care, to teaching Life Skills, addiction counselling and skills development.
John's ministry has been shaped in recent years by the call in Isaiah 58:6-7
and what this means for the local church. It is with this on his heart that he serves as the chairman of uThando leNkosi. John and Avril have two grown-up children, Victor and Sheralyn, who are both serving the Lord alongside their spouses.

Shane Duffield is involved in missions at Meadowridge Baptist Church. He was formerly a pastor and then a missionary in the Philippines for 9 years. During that time he pioneered churches and co-founded a school with his wife, Sandra. He is currently working with All Nations leading mission trips into Africa. Shane has four adult daughters who are all active in Kingdom matters.

Brendan Studti – God used Brendan to initiate the uThando leNkosi vision through sharing his heart to start a children’s home at a local interdenominational event in Cape Town. He completed his articles at Grant Gunston Inc (a law firm in Tokai) and is currently completing his pupillage to become an Advocate at the Cape Bar. Brendan is from Joburg originally but is proud to say that he now considers himself a fully-fledged Capetonian. On occasion Brendan becomes involved in the day-to-day work at uThando but, in his words, "Our Management Team are the ones who really carry that baton. They rock!" He attends Jubilee Community Church in Observatory.

Valerie Anderson spent most of her childhood and teenage years in the Philippines, where her family were missionaries, and has been involved in youth work, mentoring, refugee support and other NGO work for several years. She holds a BSoc Sci (Hons) in Psychology and an MPhil in Development Studies, from the University of Cape Town. Val is married to Brett “Fish” Anderson (youth-pastory-guy at Vineyard Stellenbosch) and the couple share a love for young people and for social justice (as well as an outrageous sense of humour!)

Sheralyn Cloete graduated with her degree in Social Work with emphasis on Community Development and an Honours in Social Policy and Management in Social Work. Sheralyn has been involved in volunteering in the NGO sector since a young age. Sheralyn served as General Manager to UL for several months, but now she and Sam (her wonderful husband) are employed as the Student Leaders at Jubilee Community Church

Sammy Cloete completed his computer science degree at the University of Cape Town. He is currently working with his wife, Sheralyn, as the Student Leaders at Jubilee Community Church. He is a member of Jubilee Community Church and ministers with the worship team there. He also works part-time as a freelance web developer.
